I get junk mail. I get LOTS of junk mail. My mailbox is regularly stuffed with catalogs offering me $400 blouses, which makes me wonder in what zip code the retailers think I live. Don’t they know we live within a mile of dairy farms? I get coupons from hardware stores and pet stores offering me $5 off if I spend more than $50, which would not quite pay the sales tax.
So interesting that you took time to read it! Bravo…and thanks for opening our eyes! Bye bye to these kind of jumps in fees and interest rates…isn’t this what President Biden wants to get rid of? Appreciate your post, Casey… I will be much more aware now! 😊🩷
Go get 'em, Maura, and Happy Earth Day (everyday)! What riles me the most (and there's plenty to consider), is why are we giving corporate welfare to the fossil fuel industry in the form of subsidies?! The International Monetary Fund estimates $7-Trillion+ a year in subsidies globally, while Big Oil makes record breaking profits and burns up our planet without paying for the deaths & damage. Why are we putting up with the climate crisis the fossil fuel industry created while gleefully counting their profits over the existential threat to civilization. Don't they have children? We need to stop the subsidies!
Maura, I do think you should send this to the CEO, and tell him everyone you know is sharing it on FB :) Not including all your substack followers. I'm a cash for gas girl, saves me 10 cents a gallon around these parts, which helps. I haven't had a gas company credit card in maybe 25+ years and don't miss them. The company owned stations are always the most expensive. But it breaks my heart that we can't stop our legislators from feeding the monsters with tax breaks off the backs of the commoners!!!
And you know what else about credit cards? You have to use them. I’ve been trying not to do so for the past couple of years, but I had read that it is better for your credit report not to cancel them. But I have been hearing from the issuers who cut my limit or change the rate. So sometimes I make a charge just to keep one open. My Mum and Jack would be aghast at being penalized for paying cash.
Daffodil bulbs and flowers contain the bitter and poisonous substance Lycorine. Rodents and deer will not eat that.

Love this…you tell them Maura. Will you mail this to their CEO?
