Very thought provoking article. As I reflect on it, I consider several places where I have lived “home.” Those places hold important and meaningful milestones in my life. I have been in my current location just over 5 years and I have yet to call it “home,” though I do enjoy living here.

Perfect portrait of Buffalo and I still call it home and my kids also tease me as I’ve lived twice as long outside of Buffalo. Everywhere we go we run into Buffalonians and we all feel the same.

Thank you Maura. Though I've been away for more than 30 years, Detroit is my home and I hear you.

I am a friend of your brothers and rowed with them at Buff State. Tim forwarded your article. After college I joined the Navy and became a pilot. Over the next 23+ years I traveled all over the world and have continued since I retired from the Navy. I had the opportunity to meet people and see the sights! It’s funny that I always compared it with “home”. I have met some awesome people and lived or visited so many spectacular places... but truthfully I have never been anywhere that was the whole package of Buffalo as you have described so well!

Thanks Maura. I was at The Place with Anne and Sandy a few weeks ago for our annual Tom and Jerry’s. It was one of my sister’s favorite places. I hope Ellen and Jenn are enjoying their holiday Tom and Jerry along with some laughs. Happy New Year to you and your family.
